Onkyo TX-NR777 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver
THX Certified Select Receiver Fills Big Rooms with Sound
With 220W per channel (6 Ohms) on tap, you have ample power to push a full-scale speaker system to THX Theater Reference levels without breaking a sweat. High-current amps control speaker drivers for accurate reproduction of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, with VLSC cleansing signals of subtle noise to make Hi-Res Audio even more transparent. AirPlay and Bluetooth capability allows you to wirelessly stream music from phones, tablets or other compatible devices. Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Chromecast are also built in for easy access to a variety of local and online music sources.
To match its comprehensive surround sound capabilities, this receiver comes equipped with seven HDMI inputs with support for 3D, 4K, and HDR technologies. A USB port on the rear panel supports direct playback of stored music files. The Onkyo Controller app turns your smart device into a full function remote, allowing you to control playback, explore services and more right with the ease of touchscreen.
THX Certified Select guarantees the same high-volume sound you experience at a commercial theater in your home. To gain certification, amplifiers must pass the industry’s most severe bench-tests covering every aspect of audio performance to satisfy THX requirements. With 220W per channel at your disposal, the TX-NR777 is ready to fill large spaces with heartpounding sound.
The TX-NR777 includes system integration connectivity such as RS232 with support for 2-way communication with 3rd party home automation systems. An infrared (IR) input allows pass-through of IR signals to control other devices connected to the TX-NR777, such as a TV or Blu-ray player. The 12 volt trigger can be used to raise/lower a projection screen, power on/off an external amplifier or open/close the drapes with the touch of a button. A detachable power cord and an optional rack mount kit make for easy installation.
Backed by 70 years of experience building high-grade audio components, the TX-NR777 amplifies accurate, noise-free signal processing with high-current power for dynamic speaker control. The result is pure, rich and authentic sound.
Onkyo's dynamic audio amplification delivers massive power at 220 W/Ch (6 Ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD, 1 Channel Driven)/ 110 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 Channels Driven).
Onkyo developed Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) to reassemble the audio signal to its original form following processing. VLSC removes pulse noise generated in D/A conversion, allowing the sound wave to be reproduced with extremely high fidelity for a smooth analog signal.
With a 5.2-channel layout in the media room, Powered Zone 2A/2B speaker outputs send amplified network, S/PDIF, and analog audio sources to pairs of speakers in other spaces. For 5.2.2 theater layouts, a line output is ideal for transmitting stereo sources available to the receiver to a hi-fi or amp and speakers set-up elsewhere in the home. Multi-room playback is supported within Onkyo Controller app.
Note: Simultaneous playback of Zone 2A and Zone 2B is not supported, and speakers must be between 8–16 ohms impedance.
Object-based soundtracks allow independently mixed sound to play through any speaker in your system, moving above and around you with breathtaking realism. The TX-NR777 reproduces 5.2.2-channel Dolby Atmos or DTS:X formats, with AccuReflex correcting the phase of direct and indirect sounds for cohesive audio imaging with Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.
DTS Neural: X identifies spatial effects in multichannel soundtracks upmixes for 3D playback through object-audio-ready speaker systems. Dolby Surround also upmixes legacy sound formats so you can experience multidimensional playback of legacy sound formats in a Dolby Atmos environment.
Stream any music from your smartphone, laptop, or PC to the TX-NR777 with ease. Control playback with Chromecast enabled apps you know and love from your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, Mac or Windows laptop, or Chromebook.

No matter what you're listening to, it will sound powerfully full, clean and clear. A premium-quality AK4458 digital-to-analog converter from Asahi Kasei implements unique low-distortion filtering technologies for clear sound, and unlocks the full potential of any audio format, including compressed, lossless, and hi-res audio.
AccuEQ conducts two measurements - one to set the level, distance and crossover for ALL speakers, including the subwoofer. Choose to include or bypass EQ measurement for front left and right speakers, and choose to automatically or manually set the EQ. Further, you can save your own manual EQ settings into three available presets.
AccuReflex technology aligns the phase of up-firing 'height' speakers with the sound coming directly from your other speakers. Any delay is resolved so that everything arrives at your ears at the same time. The result is cohesive reproduction of object-based soundtracks.
FireConnect mirrors network audio and external analog sources connected to a master component - from streaming services to vinyl records - on FireConnect-compatible speakers in other rooms. Music selection, speaker grouping, and playback management across the home are built into Onkyo Controller app for iOS and Android.
Note: Sharing audio from external inputs depends on the model and is enabled with a future firmware update. Sampling rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz are supported. FireConnect is a technology based on Blackfire provided by Blackfire Research Corp., USA.
